I've been away from home since Wednesday, 6/4, and came back Sunday 6/8. I realized something while I was away. First of all I was really thankful that I was able to be with my oldest as she had to have surgery. As my children grew, some are still growing, my heart was to still be available to them when and if I was needed. Second, leaving home in the age of internet and wireless technology is so much easier. I was able to make sure everyone was at their respective places without skipping a beat. Nothing was missed, if it was it didn't really matter.
What I really appreciated was the fact that when I got home everyone was so happy to have me back. Sure they could survive without me and their time will come when they will want to live independent lives but right now they were very willing to have "Mom" back home.
